Not only is it a British band, not only is it a Midlands band, it’s a brummie band!!! Happy days I don’t get this pleasure too often! It’s their 3rd full length album, let’s get to it!
It’s the complexities and clever way in which they have that written the music you would find with extremely progressive metal bands and math core style bands but gelling with simpler concepts that really makes it special. Even with a run time of 32 minutes it feels so full that it felt it was much longer! “Empty Space” is very heavy and softly solemn overlaid with one another, it’s so strange but enjoyable. “Paradigm” is very trippy and that stays in the background as the aggressive chaos drops like a tonne of bricks. “Nova” has more of a sense of imminent danger, filthy drops which encourage muscles to contort like a crab, but I love the melodic vocals at the end. “Shallow Graves” feels a lot more playful with how stuff is peppered throughout the song. “Dead Behind The Eyes” guests Eric Vanlerberghe from I Prevail and his vocals fit like a glove alongside Harrison’s own, makes for a very interesting track. All in all it’s great, I’m more likely to listen to the album as a whole rather than individual tracks because it plays like a story, and I like that.
