NOTHING MORE
NOTHING MORE put on a very immersive set, incredible switching up of the vast lighting setup with the tracks, the mood switches up on the drop on a dime and the crowd absolutely laps it up. Vocalist Jonny Hawkins absolutely has full control of the audience regardless of the fact he has no shoes or socks on… wasn’t really a need for me to say but it really stuck with me, more so than the black and silvery body paint he had over his left shoulder. There’s a brief pause for the bassists birthday where he is presented with a sash and many balloons, closely followed by a cake with candles as the Brummies serenade him in typical brummie fashion. They all have their own distinct presence up there in terms of dress style and the way they vibe with their music in their own way, as I said earlier Hawkins Is the biggest presence by a long way, I mean he did manage to get a whole room full of lighters and phones, not quite Bray Wyatt’s firefly’s but by god he got the brummies to put out a great effort.

SIAMESE
Siamese always put on a great show, the violin solos still hit the same everytime I see them. It’s hard opening up a night like this but they’ve handled it with ease, there’s some energy there even if us lot hadn’t woken up quite yet. Only critique is that they need to find a bit more confidence up there, that being said they don’t shy away and let their music do it's talking which is certainly more than enough to win some good folk over. An anti war message to finish off the set, a message evermore relevant and vocalist Mirza Radonjica definitely knows what he’s talking about.

SiM
SiM (Reggae PUNX from Japan) have really reminded me why I love live music so much. I have had one hell of a great time watching these Japanese punk rock reggae metal beauties and I’ll definitely be back again when they get back over here. Such a variety of their extremely well ranged material over the course of the set. You can literally see the crowd submitting to the spreading infection of happiness from the front to the back and all up into the balconies. They really get the energy flowing down there in the pit, with enough ungodly screams and filthy riffs but then you blink and the room is swaying along to a steady reggae track, the punk rock edges shining through. I’ve never seen such a varied sounding setlist and I’m absolutely loving life, I genuinely wished they didn’t have to leave.
