FOZZY

Fozzy are more extravagant this evening, sparks, smoke, as much as the venue can handle. Jericho donning another very impressive jacket for the evening. There’s not much going on between songs other than a lot of “how you doing Wolverhampton”, even for me there was a bit much clapping and “HEY HEY HEY” for one night. They get through a good varied setlist of their back catalogue, throwing in covers of Frankie Goes To Hollywood classic “Relax” and finishing their encoure with Ramones classic “Blitzkrieg Bop” (with “Judas” of course!) to end the night. Even though they’ve come away from the gimmick of old the cliche parts of the night were a bit much for me, still a great showing particularly with all the visuals but I just wanted a bit more in terms of old school rock showmanship.

PISTOLS AT DAWN

do a good job tonight, i think they need some more confidence which will come with time, i mean it is pretty busy in here which if you know the venue can be daunting.

THE HOT DAMN!

have no such need, nothings phasing them tonight as they blast through their set which has really given me Billy Idol vibes, but with comedy edge. I just want to add how nice it is for an all female band to get a well deserved slot, they’ve utilised their tone well with their inflatable unicorn bodyguards, slotting in some good fun along the way. They’ll definitely have some of this lot turn up when they’re back in April.
