It's a chilly, early start tonight at 02 Academy Birmingham for Lorna Shore's first UK date on the ' Pain Remains ' tour, but that doesn't appear to have put anyone off, the line (s) to get in are buzzing with excitement and anticipation.

Back in June this year Lorna Shore played the Main Stage at Download Festival and I only got to catch a brief moment of their set as there was a stage clash, but I was determined to catch them when they announced their next tour, which brings us to this evening.

Supported by Distant, Ingested, and Rivers of Nihil on this leg of the tour all three support bands were excellent, stirring the crowd up into a frenzy and even encouraging the biggest conga line at one point, getting everyone suitably warmed up and ready for tonight's headliner.

Now, if you have not heard of Lorna Shore, there's at least a chance that you may have heard about frontman Will Ramos' inhuman vocals - more so on a certain part of track 'To the Hellfire' towards the end and seeing this live tonight was nothing short of phenomenal. Will's vocals are clear and gives us that perfect varied vocal range we all know and love this evening and there are no signs of depletion from any of the guys considering they are a few weeks into this tour.

The ridiculously good blend of symphonic metal and deathcore, with the whole band meshing seamlessly together in that same harmony and making great use of the stage this evening. The production is immense, the pyro and lights combined with perfectly timed smoke compliments each track so well too.

Tracks this evening also included 'Welcome Back O' Sleeping Dreamer' , 'Sun Eater' and older track 'Immortal' that all had the Academy walls trembling before ending the set with the 'Pain Remains' trilogy which was stunning to witness live, both visually and in sound.

The fact that this show has sold some 3000 tickets and the size of the crowd I witnessed at Download Festival for them, proves Lorna Shore are more than their hype, they have solidified themselves as one of the biggest front runners of their genre and are well and truly on top of their game with an ever-growing fan base. Stick your air pods in or your headphones on and pick up all the dynamics of this band, not just the vocals I promise you will not be disappointed!
