SINGLE REVIEW - Born of Osiris - “In Desolation”

In Desolation is the ass shaking new single from progressive metal pioneers Born of Osiris. The intro sets the groovy undercurrent of the song before you get tackled by the lead vocals. Vocals which force their way in and demand the attention they deserve.
Born of Osiris said “In Desolation’ represents the search for clarity within yourself, even when the journey feels desolate.” and that really comes across in the song’s anthemic chorus – one sure to have crowds singing along.
Ronnie Canizaro and Joseph Buras’ vocals fight each other adding a contrast which really elevates both performances. Joseph pulling double duty on the keys, adding an aural richness to the track. Driving guitars get hips swaying courtesy of Lee McKinney and Nick Rosi, with Cameron Losch’s drums really making those cheeks clap.
The ‘Official Visualizer’ is available on Sumerian Records Youtube channel, and has a healthy dose of Dune and H. R. Giger mixed in. This is fitting as the breakdown in this feel like a chest burster is burrowing it’s way through you on Arrakis.
Beginning in September, Born of Osiris will be touring North America with Jinjer and HANABIE. which is a show not to be missed.
